Saturday was a beautiful day; much like this cheese board. It was unexpected, sweet, and spicy :) Campo Dei Fiori was on my bucket list of places to go in Rome and it did not disappoint. The square was surrounded with local bars and restaurants. In the center were fruit stands and such. We chose the Taba Café because of the indie music playing inside and the water spritzing in front of the fans. I ordered a Bellini, a cocktail made with Prosecco and peach purée, and a variety cheese board. This was brave of me being that I have given up pork and red meat since January 1st 2019. But I am in Rome. I can't be picky when in the eternal city. I ate most of the cheeses and Mandy helped me try combinations of meat and cheese. In the center of the tray is honey which might sound strange, but was just the touch of sweet that this dish needed. We sat and ate and sat some more with no hurry. This is something that I admire in Italian culture. They enjoy the little things in their days and pay attention to detail. They are friendly and engage in conversation ~always~.
